Called the Ashura Riots, they broke out across Iran at this Psalm.
Theoretical Time:
1Praise Yahvah, praise the name of Yahvah; praise him, servants of Yahvah.
2You who stand in the house of Yahvah, in the courts of the house of our god,
3praise Yahvah; for Yahvah is good; sing praises to his name, for he is delightful.
4For Yahvah has chosen Jacob to himself, and Israel for his congregation.
5For I know that Yahvah is great, and that our master is above all gods.
6Whatever Yahvah pleases, that he does in the skies and in land, in the seas and in all deep places.
7He causes the clouds to ascend from the ends of the land; he makes lightnings for the rain; he brings the wind out of his treasuries.
8He struck the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and animal,
9who sent forth his signs and wonders into the middle of you, Egypt, on pharaoh and on all his servants,
10who struck many nations and slew mighty kings;
11Sihon, king of the Amorites, and Og, king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan;
12and gave their land for a heritage, a heritage to Israel his people.
13Your name, Yahvah, endures forever; and your memorial, Yahvah, throughout all generations.
14For Yahvah will judge his people, and he will delight in his servants.
15The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.
16They have mouths, but they do not speak; they have eyes, but they do not see;
17they have ears, but they do not hear; nor is there any breath in their mouths.
18Let those who make them, become like them, and everyone who trusts in them.
19Bless Yahvah, house of Israel; bless Yahvah, house of Aaron;
20bless Yahvah, house of Levi; you who fear Yahvah, bless Yahvah.
21Blessed be Yahvah out of Zion, who lives at Jerusalem. Praise Yahvah.
Iran has been in the grip of the Islamic Revolution since 1979. There have been a series of riots recently as the established regime fights off its own people who art starting to rise up in a new revolution.
On this date a new series of riots broke out in cities across Iran.
Islam, as a religion, is counter to God as described in the Bible. Verse 5 reinforces the way that God is above all other gods, including Islam's Allah.
The God of the Bible is in complete control of everything, and whatever pleases him will happen. In this case riots in Iran. (See verse 6.)
Verse 7 includes uses weather as an example, but seas and water are Biblical symbols for people, so the verse is about political storms, of which Iran's storms are the best example recently.
Verses 8 through 11 deal with what God did in Egypt, to Egypt's kings, and it suggests that Iran is having the same happen there. The regime will eventually fall.
Verse 14 reinforces that God delights in those who follow him, and the headline suggests that the Mullahs in Iran are NOT pleasing, thus they are reaping a storm.
Verse 15 suggests the religious system is idols.
Verses 16 and 17 suggest the idols, the whole religious system behind Iran is deaf, dumb, blind and cannot speak anything. The ruling religious leaders are thus ruling by their own imaginations, and not anything from God himself.
Verse 18 suggests the leaders who ruling Iran and beholden to these idols will also become the same, without a voice in the rule of Iran.
