Climate Change Conference At UN
The United Nations was host to a climate change summit. 100 heads of state who had arrived on September 22, 2009. Obama gave an opening speech.
General Assembly 64 at UN
On September 23, 2009, the date of the Psalm, there was the opening of the general debate of the 64th General Assembly of the UN. It was opened at 9:00 AM by Ban Ki Moon.
Obama also gave a speech, is first on the floor of the UN.
Colonel Muammar Al-Qadhafi of Libya made headlines when he gave a 94 minute speech.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran also gave a speech to a mostly empty hall.
By the next day, September 24, 2009, Obama chaired a general session of the security counsel. This was the first time a US President had chaired this meeting.
By the evening of the 24th Pittsburg was host to the G-20 summit.
