Jesus in the Tomb

40 John 19:38
³⁸After these things, Joseph of Arimathea, who was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly, because of fear of the Jews, begged Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus. And Pilate granted him permission. So he came and took away the body of Jesus.

40 John 19:39-41
³⁹And there also came Nicodemus, who at first, had come to Jesus by night; and he brought with him a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about 100 pints.
⁴⁰So they took away the body of Jesus and bound it in linen cloths with the spices, according to the custom of the Jews in burial.
⁴¹Now there was a garden in the place where Jesus was crucified; and in the garden a new tomb in which no man was yet laid.

42 Mark 15:43-16:0
⁴³then Joseph of Arimathea came, an honorable counsellor, who was also waiting for the kingdom of god, and he dared to go to Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus.
⁴⁴But Pilate marveled that he was already dead. So he called the centurion and asked him if he had already died.
⁴⁵And when he learned it, he gave the body to Joseph.
⁴⁶And Joseph bought linen, and took him down and wrapped him in it, and laid him in a tomb which was hewn in a rock; and he rolled a stone against the door of the tomb.
⁴⁷But Mary Magdalene and Mary, the mother of Joses, saw where he was laid.

43 Luke 23:50-52
⁵⁰There was a man named Joseph, the counselor of Arimathea, a city of Judea, a good and righteous man.
⁵¹He did not agree with their wishes and their actions; and he waited for the kingdom of god.
⁵²He went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus.

⁵³And he took it down and wrapped it in fine linen, and laid it in a hewn tomb in which no one was ever laid.

⁵⁵The women who had come with him from Galilee were near, and they saw the tomb and how his body was laid.
⁵⁶And they returned and prepared spices and perfumes.

And on the sabbath they rested, as it is commanded.
