Tropical Storm Lee

First Born Plague: Event 25: Pharaoh Meeting, Prep. to Leave

On the ground in the United States, the gulf coast was preparing for the land fall of Tropical Storm Lee. In fear of another Katrina like event, warnings were issued for New Orleans.

The storm dumped massive amounts of rain across part of the region, though it did not cause any rainfall in drought ravaged parts of Texas.

Indeed, the low humidity caused by Lee triggered another round of major wild fires across much of Texas.

Those fires would erupt over the following week.

The Bible passage for this date includes a reference to asking Egyptians for gold and silver. There was a major article published this day that sprung from a wikileaks cable involving gold.

It has been well known that China has been on a gold buying spree. The news this day explained why. Gold price suppression is a western banking system attempt to keep the US Dollar as the worlds reserve currency. High priced gold is an alternative.

The Chinese are the largest holders of treasury notes which loose purchasing power with each additional printing of US Dollars by the Federal Reserve.

The Chinese expect their currency to eventually become a reserve currency, and to get their requires building up of a gold reserve themselves. The Chinese are thus asking "Pharaoh" for gold (and silver.)

Note that historically, China used silver as its currency, and that it was the first to use paper currency, samples of which were brought to Europe by Marco Polo.

Associated Scripture:

Exodus 10:24-11:3
24And pharaoh called to Moses and said to him, Go, serve before Yahvah your god; only let your flocks and herds remain here; let your little ones also go with you.
25Then Moses said to pharaoh, You must also give us sacrifices and burnt offerings that we may present to Yahvah our god.
26Our cattle will also go with us; there will not be 1 hoof left behind; for we must take them to serve before Yahvah our god; and we do not know what else we must offer to Yahvah until we come there.
27But Yahvah hardened pharaoh's heart and he would not let them go.
28And pharaoh said to Moses, Get away from here, take care of yourself, do not try to see my face again.
29And Moses said, You spoke well, I will not try to see your face any longer.

1And Yahvah said to Moses, I will bring yet 1 more plague on pharaoh, and on the Egyptians, then I will let you go from here; when he lets you go, then you must get out altogether.
2Speak now in the presence of the people that they ask every man of his neighbor, and every woman of her neighbor, jewels of silver and jewels of gold.
3And Yahvah gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. Also, the man Moses was well honored in the land of Egypt in the sight of pharaoh's servants and in the sight of the people.
