US President Obama arrived in Minneapolis for the start of a campaign tour generally along the Mississippi river. His arrival was very close to the theoretical time. The airport is just up the bluff from the Mississippi itself. That river is America's Nile.
The focus of the passage is on how the plague is on the river.
Here's at least one video...
After loosing around 50 percent of it stock value across 2011, and a worrying conference call with investors the week before, Bank of America announced on this date that it was selling its Canadian credit card operations.
The bank is also attempting to unload its China Construction Bank, but so far has had trouble finding any takers.
The problem is the Country Wide purchase is turning sour. Bank of America has been sued for fraudulent lending, and could be forced to pay back $10 Billion to various investors should they loose the suit. They also risk numerous lawsuits from county records offices for failure to properly record mortgage deeds.
When this date passed in 2008, it was Bear Stearns that collapsed. Though happening in slow motion, Bank of America appears to be the matched financial system fulfillment.
In a move the surprised many, Google announced that they were buying Motorola. Google had been battling Apple and others over patents related to its android system. The purchase of Motorola added 17,000 wireless patents to Google's growing defensive portfolio. It also effectively changed the playing field in the area of phones and tables as Google looks much less vulnerable to patent litigation from Apple and Microsoft.
There were comments in financial blogs that Motorola was widely shorted, and the $12.5 billion purchase was a high premium over the going price. The shorts could have collectively lost $256 million, enough to push some hedge funds to insolvency. The result could be unforeseen impacts in the financial markets.
It is still an open question as to what a "frog" is in the prophetic sense. The little green android logo at least plays with a little green frog.
25And 7 days passed after Yahvah had struck the river.
1Then Yahvah said to Moses, Go to pharaoh and say to him, Yahvah says, Let my people go that they may serve me.
2And if you refuse to let them go, look, I will strike all your borders with frogs;
3and the river will swarm with frogs, which will come up and enter into your house and into your bedroom and into your bed and into the houses of your servants and of your people and into your inner chambers and into your kneading troughs;
4and the frogs will come up both on you and on all your people and on all your servants.
5And Yahvah said to Moses, Say to Aaron your brother, Lift up your hand with your staff over the rivers and over the streams and over the ponds, and cause frogs to come on the land of Egypt.
6So Aaron lifted up his hand over the waters of Egypt; and the frogs came up and covered the land of Egypt.
7And the magicians did the same with their enchantments, and brought up frogs on the land of Egypt.
8Then pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron and said to them, Entreat Yahvah, that he may take away the frogs from me and from my people; and I will let the people go that they may sacrifice to Yahvah.
9And Moses said to pharaoh, Appoint a time; when I will entreat for you and for your servants and for your people, to destroy the frogs from you and your house?
