2009-07-04: Plague of Darkness Continues

Nearly the whole world was astounded by the unexpected death of Michael Jackson. Most media turned to nearly around the clock coverage until his funeral 3 days after the theoretical for this plague.

Secondary headlines, including a North Korean missile launch and possibly the largest sunspot ever seen came in as mild secondary fulfillments.

In continuation of the financial plagues, the state of California began issuing over 100,000 IOUs worth over $300,000,000 USD. These "Colonials" as they were starting to be called expire at the next date in the Plague series and probably map both to Colonial dollars and Confederate currency.

This date marked the start of the second 3 month long continuation of the modern relay of the Plague of Darkness. This was also the 4th of July holiday in the United States. Day-for-a-year this folds through into the founding of the republic itself. Details for this plague:

24: Plague: Darkness continues.

Associated Scripture:

Exodus 10:23
23they did not see each other, nor rose any from his place for 3 days; but all the sons of Israel had light in their dwellings.

Fulfillment: Michael Jackson

On the Thursday before this theoretical Saturday fulfillment date, the world famous artist apparently died of a drug induced heart failure. The world tuned in for a funeral the following Tuesday, with 30,000,000 estimated US viewers, 6,000,000 in the UK, and countless others watching around the world.

Most mainstream media were still heavily focused on Michael Jackson 10 days after his death, with TV ratings still tied to a viewership that wanted to know more about what had happened. Like Princess Diana many years before, he will remain a cultural icon for many years to come.

His death fulfills in many ways various aspects of this plague.

In a strange twist, Jackson had suffered from a skin disease that had caused his skin to turn white. This is an opposite to how the word for darkness is usually conceived, but the disease had several severe side effects. His dermatologists warned him that almost any exposure to the sun was dangerous for him, so he had been very careful to always walk under an umbrella and otherwise shield himself from the sun.

He was thus a man forced by his medical condition to always walk in darkness.

Jackson had another curious linkage to this plague. His early childhood had been spent as an acclaimed performer, a member of the Jackson 5. His early adult life had also been preoccupied with performing, his acclaimed "Thriller" music video set the standard for countless others who would follow, defined the music video industry and caused the album to sell more copies than any other album ever.

His heavy work career early in life caused him to not have a childhood as most people understand childhood. He had spent much of the rest of his life recreating a childhood that he himself had never had.

His Neverland Ranch, in some ways his own personal Disneyland, is the biggest and most pronounced example. His infamous brushes with the law over child abuse yet another example of his attempt to recreate a lost childhood.

The Hebrew term for "Darkness" that undergirds this plague, means at the Hebrew word-picture level to "block" the "receiving" of "growth." (HSK)

As a man Michael Jackson was an amazing example of someone who's own growth was blocked by his family's profession and was thus never able to receive the growth that normally happens in childhood. That loss is what he so desperately tried to recreate the rest of his life.

Michael Jackson was someone who was under a personal cloud of darkness, the exact sort of darkness implied by the spelling of the Hebrew term for this plague. He was never able to grow up.

Michael Jackson was preparing for a comeback tour at the time of his death. The need for this tour was apparently a substantial personal debt load, similar to what is being seen in the financial aspects of this plague series. This may not be an incidental note, but an essential component on why Jackson died when he did.

Michael produced a music video that may have been prophetic for his own death on a prophetic reply of a plague of Egypt. The video can be watched at Youtube.

Fulfillment: California IOUs

California began unraveling financially in December of 2003 when the State decided to abandon a balanced budget requirement that had existed in the state constitution since its inception. The voters eventually agreed in early 2004 and ever since the financial condition of the state has been in peril.

An old adage states that "Debt makes the good times better... and the bad times worse." The debt burden simply adds injury to the insulting behavior of state politicians. In this case past spending is impinging on the current legistature's ability to balance the budget.

A standoff between democrats, who want more taxes, and republicans who want cuts in spending, caused the state legislature to deadlock over a balanced budget agreement. The state treasurer had no ability to borrow and was thus required to send out IOUs, effectively borrowing from creditors of the state instead.

The IOUs started going out around June 30, 2009, 4 days ahead of theoretical. By July 10, 2009, 6 days after theoretical most of the major banks in California stopped accepting them, either not wanting to loan California any more funds, or for fear of not being repaid.

Serious concerns were raised if these were "Bills of Credit" as defined by the US Constitution. The purpose of the clause is to prevent states from funding ongoing operations through debt issuance, and thereby causing inflation in neighboring states. Of course nobody enforces the Constitution any more, so this point is mute.

The timing of these "Colonials" is important to note. The prophetic date on the day-for-a-year time line is in a replay of the revolutionary war period. In those days the US was unable to pay bills to fund the war and instead issued IOUs in the form of currency. That currency eventually expired worthless. These IOUs are a replay of that currency, and most likely will expire worthless as well.

These notes also come due in October of 2009, and that period is both the end of this plague and also a day-for-a-year replay of the US Civil War era. In that era the US Confederate dollars also expired worthless. These California IOUs likely fulfill both currency events expected by the time line.

Fulfillment: Largest Ever Sunspot

The sun has been free of spots for over 2 year, consistent with a solar minimum in the 11 year solar cycle. Scientists has been wondering what happened to the new cycle. Spots should have been occurring for months.

Then, as if right on cue to the prophetic story, a giant dark sunspot possibly the largest ever on the surface of the sun began to appear.

The spot emerged suddenly on July 3 and 4, 2009, nearly coincident to the theoretical plague date. It was more fully visible 2 days after the theoretical date for this plague, and could remain visible on the surface of the sun for several months. (Though it rotated out of view on July 10, 2009.) First impacts on earth from the CME was expected around July 7, 2009.

The structure of this plague is built around 2 parts, each 3 months long. If this time overlays a calendar day, then the "sunrise" time is here at July 4, 2009, where this sunspot dramatically appears. It is like a sunrise in the morning of a typical day. The only difference is this day the sun is marked by a plague of darkness.

Fulfillment: North Korea

In keeping with a series begun at the May start of the plague of Darkness, North Korea launched a series of 7 rockets into the Pacific. This was apparently an attempt to provoke a response from the United States. Fortunately for the world nobody listened to North Korea.

There was also a widespread cyber-attack on South Korea and various US government and commercial websites. Media reports suggested it was not as strong an attack as had been seen from other quarters, but it was still a problem to deal with.
