2008-11-06: Plague on Livestock ends, also soot.

This date marks the end of the 2 month Plague on Livestock.

The word "Plague" was not used in the Hebrew for this specific event, it was instead a "DBR" or Decree that would cause the trouble. That aspect of the plague fulfilled with the $700B emergency banking system bailout, the fulfilling "decree."

This date marks the end of the period when the decree is issued, it also has an interesting footnote dealing with soot from a furnace tossed into the air.

The following is the exact timing and the associated Bible text for this date.

16: Plague: Livestock. Ashes into air, boils.

Associated Scripture:

Exodus 9:6-12
6And Yahvah did that thing the next day, and all the cattle of the Egyptians died; but of the cattle of the sons of Israel not 1 died.
7And pharaoh sent, and look, not 1 of the cattle of Israel was dead. And the heart of pharaoh was hardened and he did not let the people go.

8And Yahvah said to Moses and to Aaron, Take 2 handfuls of the ashes of the furnace and let Moses scatter it toward the skies in the sight of pharaoh.
9And it will become fine dust in all the land of Egypt, and there will be boils breaking forth with sores on men, and on cattle, throughout all the land of Egypt.
10So they took ashes of the furnace and stood before pharaoh; and Moses scattered it toward the skies in the sight of pharaoh; and it became blistering boils, breaking out with sores on men, and on cattle.
11And the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils; for the boils had spread among the magicians and throughout all the land of Egypt.
12And Yahvah hardened the heart of pharaoh and he did not listen to them, as Yahvah had said to Moses.

Primary Fulfillment: GM Nears Bankruptcy

On November 5, 2008, General Motors released a very unusual congratulatory statement on Obama's win of the Presidency. In that statement GM also requested urgent consideration of a bailout of GM and the other automotive manufacturers.

Also on November 5, but released on major media on November 6, was a report dealing with the impact of a bankruptcy of the auto makers. The report indicated the scope of a collapse is in the range of 2.5 million employees and $125B in payroll.

On Friday November 7, 2008, at 12:15 PM, General Motors held a Conference Call where they released more of their 3rd quarter financial results. The timing was about 24 hours after the theoretical time for this plague date. (Ford had their call at 9:00 AM on Friday, November 7.

GM's Losses were stunning, the burn rate on cash used by the business suggested to some analysts that the firm may not be able to survive for the remainder of 2008.

There are 2 forms of bankruptcy, Chapter 7 and Chapter 11. Chapter 7 are the rules for full liquidation, while Chapter 11 allows for a reorganization. Chapter 11 would allow for GM to break most contracts, including labor and retiree benefits and could potentially reinvigorate the firm for long term success. The problem with Chapter 11 is that it requires debtor-in-possession short term financing which is generally not available because of the financial crisis. Many have been saying that if GM goes into bankruptcy it will be a Chapter 7 form, and the firm will simply be liquidated.

The statement released by General Motors said they had stopped working on a potential merger with Chrysler, duh, which leaves Chrysler at significant risk of bankruptcy itself. Ford also had a dismal financial quarter, but Ford's situation is not as dire as GM's.

Key members of the US Congress began calling for part of the $700 Billion bailout money to be spent on a rescue of the car companies in a fashion similar to the 1979 bailout of Chrysler. Paulson has the freedom to do this, but the political will is caught in the transition between Presidential administrations and waiting for the 111th Congress to be seated.

Curiously the day-for-a-year time line has a second-order fold through to the same general time as the Chrysler Bailout in 1979. (The exact plague time folds through to the 1977 New York City blackout.)

General Motors is a curious match to the text for this plague date. Automobiles, have many parts forged in a foundry, or furnace, and when they are operated they throw soot into the air. This is a match to the text where soot from a furnace is thrown into the air. Some earlier forms of an automotive industry bailout request have been framed around the need to pay for electric and hybrid vehicle retooling. These requests essentially eliminate on-the-road soot emissions, though the coal behind the electricity is certainly not without emissions and nuclear power, when it is accidentally emitted, permanently pollutes as well.

This soot match is what causes the Automotive industry crisis to be listed as the primary fulfillment for this date.

Secondary Fulfillment I: Stock Markets Decline

Over a 2 day period, November 5 and 6, 2008, the US stock market saw the largest 2 day decline since the stock market collapse of 1987.

In general the Hebrew terms behind this plague date are 'stock' and 'money' so a large decline like this is a fitting end to the past 2 months.

Secondary Fulfillment II: Iceland

Iceland's financial collapse had been prominent at the middle of the 2 month period. The 300,000 people living in Iceland had collectively over-extended themselves and as a people effectively went bankrupt. The immediate concern had been foreign exchange in order to buy food for the winter.

At this date there were 2 key additional headlines. First, the UK government decided to make all Icesave bank depositors whole. In effect the UK gave up on recovering most of the funds from Iceland.

The second headline, perhaps more important, was the arrangement of a £3.8bn loan from the IMF and a group of European countries. The load should ease the food crisis in Iceland, delaying the day of reckoning until... later.

Headlines Worth Noting

There were several other headlines that landed on the date that are also worth noting.

Shariah Law taught at the US Treasury

Stunning many people, the US Treasury official responsible for doling out the $700 Billion bailout money started teaching a conference on Shariah Law. A specific conference with 100 people in attendance was held essentially on the prophetic date/time.

A press conference against this plague of Arabs was held at the same time.

Spitzer Let Off

The timing of this one is interesting. On the plague of frogs date Spitzer had to resign as Governor of New York. At this date the decision was made to drop charges. Prosecutors believed he had not used state money for his escapades. Here.

Nerpa Accident

The Russian government had an accident aboard a nuclear powered submarine undergoing sea trials. Apparently a freon based fire system was accidentally triggered. 20 people were reported killed by suffocation. No precise reports of the time of the accident have been given in western media. The sub returned to port on Saturday.

This accident is interesting because the Kursk sinking hit during another run of the plague series in the summer of 2000.
