¹AND to the angel of the church in Sardis write: These things says he who has the 7 Spirits of God and the 7 stars. I know your works; you have a name that you are alive yet you are dead. ²Awake, and hold fast to the things which remain but are ready to die; for I have not found your works perfect before my God. ³Remember how you have received and heard, so hold fast and repent. And if you do not awake, I will come against you as a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come on you. ⁴But you have a few members at Sardis who have not defiled their names; and they will walk with me in white, for they are worthy. ⁵He who overcomes, the same will be clothed in white robes; and I will not blot his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels. ⁶He who has ears, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

⁷And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These things says he who is the holy one, he who is true, he who has the key of David, he who opens and no man shuts, and shuts, and no man opens; ⁸I know your works and look, I have set before you an open door which no man can lock, for you have but little strength yet you have obeyed my word and have not denied my name. ⁹Look, I turn over those of the synagogue of Satan, who say that they are Jews and are not, but do lie; look, I will make them to come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you. ¹⁰Because you have kept the word of my patience, I will also keep you from the hour of temptation which will come on all the world to try those who live on earth. ¹¹Look, I come quickly. Hold that fast which you have, so that no man take your crown. ¹²He who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he will not go out again; and I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the new Jerusalem which comes down out of heaven from my God; and I will write on him my new name. ¹³He who has ears, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

¹⁴And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These things says the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; ¹⁵I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot; it is better to be either cold or hot. ¹⁶So then because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue you out of my mouth. ¹⁷You say, I am rich and my wealth has increased and I need nothing; and you do not know that you are miserable and a wanderer and poor and blind and naked. ¹⁸I advise you to buy of me gold refined in the fire, that you may become rich; and white raiment, that you may be clothed, so that the shame of your nakedness may not be seen; and anoint your eyes with salve, that you may see. ¹⁹I rebuke and chastise all those whom I love; be zealous, therefore, and repent. ²⁰Look, I stand at the door and knock; if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come to him and will eat with him, and he with me. ²¹To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with me on my throne, even as I also overcame and have sat down with my Father on his throne. ²²He who has ears, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
